The Minnesota Vikings have started early this morning in trimming the roster. We brought you the news about Aviante Collins earlier, and now two more players have been released:
DL Tito Odenigbo is another #Vikings cut.

The #Vikings are waiving QB Jake Browning, source said. Likely headed to practice squad if he clears waivers.

There was also a felling that the Vikings might add a cornerback on cutdown day, but instead of waiting, the Vikings pulled the trigger on a trade:
Trade: The #Chiefs are sending CB Mark Fields to the #Vikings, source said.

Tito Odenigbo getting released isn’t a surprise, and neither is the Jake Browning news. I agree with Pelissero that he might be a prime candidate for the practice squad, but remember he has to clear waivers first.
As to the Fields trade, here’s some Kansas City perspective on the player:
Fields has a ton of physical talent, but got worse as preseason went along. Which is... not amazing.

Zimmer might be able to unlock him, but good on Veach for getting anything here. https://t.co/wQlSkgMqG2
For what it’s worth, here’s his 2019 preseason grades from PFF:
Mark Fields in 112 snaps this preseason received:

43.3 Overall grade
38.8 Run defense grade
52.7 Coverage grade https://t.co/jeQen9oGAi
Fields is an undrafted free agent from Clemson, and is a rookie. For the Vikings to give up any compensation on him is notable in that regard. As soon as we find out what the details of the trade are, we’ll update the info here.
UPDATE: It appears the Vikings sent the Chiefs a 2021 seventh round pick:
The Vikings sent a 7th round pick in 2021 to Kansas City in exchange for UDFA cornerback Mark Fields
