Following the Minnesota Vikings’ Week 1 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, confidence among Vikings fans was running high according to our weekly FanPulse poll. That’s to be expected.
Also to be expected is that, following a five-point loss in Week 2, the season is apparently over.

Yes, following Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers, the percentage of fans that are confident in the direction if the team has been cut nearly in half. Prior to Sunday, 86% of fans were confident in the direction that the Vikings were going, but now that number sits at just 45%.
Ridiculous. I’m just going to leave it at that.
The national question for this week was which NFL head coach do people think will be fired first. Surprisingly. . .at least to some, I would imagine. . .Mike Zimmer was not a selectable option, but it was a pretty close race at the top among the coaches that were.

Jay Gruden, who will bring his team to U.S. Bank Stadium later this season, was the winner of the poll at 26%. Just behind him was Jaguars’ coach Doug Marrone at 25%. Former Vikings’ offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, who the Vikings will see in Week 5, picked up 20% of the vote.
We’ll see what next week brings for our Daily Norseman FanPulse. Hopefully it will be an upward tick. May the football gods help us if it is not.
