Week 4 of the season might sound a little early for a “must win” game, but with the way the NFC North is shaping up so far, that might be exactly what we’re looking at when the Minnesota Vikings head to Soldier Field this Sunday to take on the Chicago Bears.
Both of these teams are 2-1 in the early going, with each of them falling to the Green Bay Packers in early-season play. That means that the loser of this one would fall to 0-2 in the NFC North. Given that this division is currently the only division in the NFL where all four teams have winning records, it appears that it’s going to be a battle all the way to the end, and 0-2 in division games would be a tough hole to climb out of.
The Bears opened their season with a home loss to the Packers, and then got a come-from-behind victory over the Denver Broncos before thrashing the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. The Vikings defeated the Atlanta Falcons at home before their defeat at Lambeau Field, and throttled the Oakland Raiders in Week 3 to get to 2-1.
This game is going to be one of the late kickoffs on Sunday afternoon, and for some reason this all-NFC matchup is on CBS rather than its usual home on FOX. We’ll have all of the action right here for you.
