UPDATE: The Vikings have, in fact, waived Nate Meadors to make room for Davion Davis on the 53-man roster, per Chris Tomasson.

Original story follows.

Even with Laquon Treadwell back in the fold, it appears that the Minnesota Vikings are going to add more depth to their wide receiver position before their big Week 4 matchup against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

According to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Vikings are going to be moving wide receiver Davion Davis up from the practice squad at some point today.

The Vikings signed Davis as an undrafted free agent after he had a successful career at Sam Houston State. He played sparingly in the preseason, catching just two passes for 11 yards, and was let go by the team on cutdown day before being brought back to the practice squad.

There has not been any word yet on who the Vikings will waive to make room for Davis on the roster. With both Mackensie Alexander and Mike Hughes (likely) back in the fold at cornerback, you could see a player like Nate Meadors being let go in order to make room. Once we have the official word, we’ll add an update to this story.
