NFL Week 4 Early Games Discussion

An appetizer before the main course

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

This week, your Minnesota Vikings will be playing as part of the later slate of games, as their kickoff against the Chicago Bears will not take place until approximately 3:25 PM Central time. But, there is still a ton of NFL action for your viewing pleasure before that, and for people that have been around here for a while, you know that can only mean one thing.

Yes, for the first time this year, we have a (modified, limited) RED ZONE SUNDAY to indulge ourselves in this afternoon! There are eight early games on the slate for today, and if you have the Red Zone Channel, either Andrew Siciliano or Scott Hanson will be taking you to where the action is around the NFL.

If you don’t have the Red Zone Channel, here’s a look at the early games and which ones will be showing in your area, with maps courtesy of the good folks at 506 Sports.

Early Games on CBS

Red - New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills - Dan Fouts, Ian Eagle - DirecTV Channel 707

Blue - Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens - Greg Gumbel, Trent Green - DirecTV Channel 706

Green - Oakland Raiders at Indianapolis Colts - Kevin Harlan, Rich Gannon - DirecTV Channel 708

Yellow - Tennessee Titans at Atlanta Falcons - Spero Dedes, Adam Archuleta - DirecTV Channel 705

Orange - Los Angeles Chargers at Miami Dolphins - Tom McCarthy, Jay Feely - DirecTV Channel 709

Early Games on FOX

Red - Kansas City Chiefs at Detroit Lions - Kevin Burkhardt, Charles Davis - DirecTV Channel 710

Blue - Washington Redskins at New York Giants - Thom Brennaman, Chris Spielman - DirecTV Channel 712

Orange - Carolina Panthers at Houston Texans - Kenny Albert, Ronde Barber - DirecTV Channel 711

The green area (Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals) and yellow area (Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Los Angeles Rams) are actually late games, but are displayed on this map as FOX is not doing a double-header this week.

That’s a look at Week 4 in the NFL for the early games, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the action, and we’ll be back with the inactive lists at right around 2:00 PM Central and the Open Thread for the first quarter of Vikings/Bears at around 2:30.
