Ladies and gentlemen...we made it. Football is officially back.
The Week 1 action starts with a significant matchup between two teams trying to establish themselves in the 2019 NFC playoff picture after disappointing 2018 campaigns. The Vikings are coming off a roller coaster 8-7-1 season that saw lots of turnover and disappointment. They’re looking to get Year 2 of the Kirk Cousins Experiment and Year 1 of the Kevin Stefanski/Gary Kubiak Experiment underway on a positive note.
The Falcons were another supposed contender that failed to live up to expectations last year. Atlanta had some key injuries early in the season as they stumbled out to a 1-4 start they never fully recovered from.
Both teams have watched other teams win the Super Bowl in their new stadiums the past two seasons. Can either squad make a run at crashing the party in Miami next February? Their respective journeys will begin this weekend, and the victor will have a big early advantage.
