We are ninety minutes away from kickoff at U.S. Bank Stadium for the season opener between the Minnesota Vikings and the Atlanta Falcons. Both teams have released their inactive lists, designating seven players that will not suit up for this afternoon’s contest.
Let’s take a look at both of these lists, starting with the visiting team.
Atlanta Falcons
- OL Jamon Brown
- OT Matt Gono (back)
- RB Brian Hill
- CB Jordan Miller
- RB Qadree Ollison
- DT Deadrin Senat
- WR Olamide Zaccheaus
Gono was the only player that the Falcons listed on their final injury report, so it’s no surprised that he won’t play today.
And now, on to the home team.
Minnesota Vikings
- TE Tyler Conklin (ribs)
- WR Josh Doctson
- DT Jalyn Holmes
- CB Mike Hughes (knee)
- G Dru Samia
- OT Oli Udoh
- DT Armon Watts
The big news is that Stefon Diggs, who didn’t practice on Wednesday and was limited the rest of the week, is active for today’s game. That’s pretty huge for the Vikings. With Doctson being inactive, and likely not up to speed on the offense yet, the Vikings will roll with four wide receivers today: Diggs, Adam Thielen, Chad Beene, and Bisi Johnson.
Conklin suffered his rib injury on Friday in practice, and apparently it was bad enough for him to miss the opener. This means that Brandon Dillon, the biggest surprise on the 53-man roster (in my opinion), will be active for his first NFL game.
There are your inactive lists for both squads, folks. Our Open Thread for the first quarter of action is coming your way at the top of the 11:00 AM Central hour.
