Now that the inactive lists have officially been submitted for today’s game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Atlanta Falcons, here’s an interesting tidbit about the roster for the purple going into today’s game.
Of the 46 active players today, ten of them are active for their first NFL game, and it wouldn’t be completely surprising for them all to see action in today’s game. Here’s the full list of players that could be making their NFL debuts today.
- CB Kris Boyd
- C Garrett Bradbury
- LS Austin Cutting
- TE Brandon Dillon
- DB Marcus Epps
- CB Mark Fields
- WR Bisi Johnson
- DT Hercules Mata’afa
- RB Alexander Mattison
- TE Irv Smith Jr.
Nine of those players are members of the Vikings’ 2019 draft class. Dillon came to the team as an undrafted free agent, Fields was acquired in a trade on roster cutdown day, and Mata’afa missed all of what would have been his rookie season with a torn ACL.
Congratulations to all of the young men that could, potentially, set foot on an NFL field in a meaningful game for the first time. Here’s hoping that, when they’re called upon, they’re ready to perform.
