Divisional Round - Minnesota Vikings v San Francisco 49ers Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images

Good Morning!

Well that was not the score I was expecting. Since I was at work I followed mainly via Twitter and texts from friends. From what I heard the offensive game plan was.....offensive and the 49ers ran the ball 34 straight times or something like that. I’d expect at least some of the current starters to not be back next year as the team needs to get younger, particularly on defense and left guard, (see what I did there). By the way, if you came here to post the same repetitive crap of 0-60, 38-7 etc, don’t. It’s wearing on Brad’s and my nerves. Meanwhile, let’s carry on with our news and links open thread full of beer recommendations, nap strategies, crock pot and smoker recipes. Drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and get more beer, the offseason has started earlier than I planned.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

San Francisco 49ers 27, Minnesota Vikings 10: Season ends in Santa Clara. The Vikings got steamrolled in this one says Chris.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com Head Coach Mike Zimmer addressed the media following Saturday’s game vs. the 49ers, I’m Proud of This Football Team and The Way They Competed This Year.

Vikings Season Ends with 27-10 Loss in Divisional Round.

Matthew Coller at SkorNorth.com notes: The 49ers simply had the Vikings’ kryptonite.

League News:

As of this writing the Titans are beating the Ravens by a score of 28-12.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waiter, and Welcome Aboard!
