Minnesota Vikings News and Links: January 20, 2020

and then there were two.....

Minneapolis, MN 10/3/99 Vikings vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers — Randy Moss, left, celebrates his second touchdown of the day with Cris Carter, right, putting the Vikings ahead of Tampa Bay 14-0 in the first quarter.

Merry Monday, everyone!

Finally! The Participants have been chosen. The next NFL champion will be either the San Francisco 49ers or the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams won yesterday to advance. I missed the Chiefs-Titans matchup because I was out ice fishing. I did see the second game, and it was a lot of fun to watch. I wonder who will get the blame for that performance?

I don’t mind either team, which is a nice feeling. I think the 49ers will win the game. I think that Kansas City would have to shut down their running attack in order to win, and I don’t see them being able to do that. If the 9ers are able to run the ball, their defense is very good, and I don’t see the Chiefs being able to put enough points on the board in order to come out on top. We’ll see in a couple of weeks!

Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:

NFL.com has scores and highlights from both of yesterday’s games.

We come to today’s media selection:

For no particular reason.............

We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion

-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags

-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. I’d stay away from the waiter again today, he’s still in a bad mood.
