Did anyone actually watch the Pro Bowl?

NFL: Pro Bowl-NFC Practice Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Monday, everyone!

The Pro Bowl has now ended, with the AFC coming out on top, which means............nothing. But hey, I’m sure they had a good time. I’d love to spend a few days in Florida right now, this winter stuff is getting really old. We did have an enjoyable weekend here on Hoth, the fam and I got out ice fishing on Saturday. We were out there for most of the day, and we didn’t catch anything, but we still had a good time and, as always, we ate well. It was a balmy 16 degrees ABOVE zero that day, so I stepped out of the ice shack & enjoyed a delicious cigar (an Ashton VSG, yummy!). We have months of winter to look forward to, we’re considering taking a short vacation to somewhere warm in February or March. Phoenix or Florida, we’re still deciding.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Luft Krigare posted Vikings vs. the Off-Season - GMG - Holes to Fill.

Chris takes you through some of the Vikings’ best plays from the past decade.

CCNorseman wrote a fanpost In Defense of Rick Spielman.

MarkSP18 presents his Vikings Off-Season Plan 2.0.

Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:

From the New York Post, a sad story as Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and several others died in a helicopter crash. Prayers to the Bryant family and the families of the others in the crash, terrible.

NFL.com highlights some of the standouts from the Senior Bowl, and the NFLPA is to meet Thursday to discuss the status of the CBA.

ESPN has the wrap-up and highlights from the Pro Bowl.

The Sporting News discusses the facts of the New Orleans Saints and the Catholic Church scandal. I know what you’re thinking. A scandal in New Orleans? I know, shocking, ain’t it?

We come to today’s media selection:

Here is a full highlight reel of the 2020 Pro Bowl, enjoy!

We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. You can talk to the waiter today, he seems to be less volatile and angry, although he’s still sarcastic and snarky. Just keep your distance and try to ignore him, especially if he starts grumbling about the weather.
