Around the DN since our last open thread:

The Vikings are going with a bi-angle of authority on defense, as Adam Zimmer and Andre Patterson have been named defensive co-coordinators, per Chris. Ha, co-coordinators, kinda sounded like I was stuttering, didn’t it?

Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:

From NFL.com, Joe Montana advises Tom Brady to stay in New England. Brady should probably listen to him, Montana’s the greatest quarterback of all-time.

FoxSports has highlights from last night’s Super Bowl LIV opening night.

More details emerged from Kareem Hunt’s arrest, from FoxSports. He admitted to the officer that he wouldn’t be able to pass a drug test, and I would imagine the NFL will use that against him, so wherever he winds up next year, he could be under suspension to start the season. It’s unfortunate, the kid has a ton of talent, and he’s running out of chances.

ESPN looks at Andrew Berry, the new Browns GM.

We come to today’s media selection:

Speaking of the Super Bowl, let’s revisit one of the best halftime shows ever. One of the only worth watching, IMO. This one & Tom Petty. Here’s Prince. Enjoy!

We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, and don’t tip the bartender over. Try the headcheese, but hurry. It’s been sitting here so long, we’re afraid it might start moving.
