In honor of the Minnesota Vikings advancing in the playoffs, the entire city of Minneapolis will be lit up in purple.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey announced via Twitter that “...we’re going to be lighting our downtown up purple. All these buildings down here are going to be lit purple.” Typically the I-35W bridge is the only thing that is lit in celebration of various holidays or sporting events, but clearly that is not enough for this occasion.
Frey acknowledges that the Vikings are underdogs, but they won’t go down without a fight. “Now we’ve been underrated before. But I have a feeling that Cook, Thielen, Cousins and our entire defensive line, there going to be ready to go get it.”
