Wednesday Open Thread

Good Morning, It’s Hump Day!

Well maybe it isn’t, but I’m going with it since I type it earlier. We’re getting a driveway extension poured so my son can park his work van in the side yard on the boat pad (sidenote eff HOA’s and my dbag neighbor). I had removed all the sprinklers from that side of the lawn but after the company got started we found wires......about 4 inches down and cross connected to each other, had to make the decision to cut the power to the sprinkler system and either have it reinstalled or a new system put in. I did see that Fishin didn’t post a thread yesterday, I can’t access Chorus on my work computer and then the sh*tshow that is my job started so I couldn’t move Surly’s fanpost to the front page....sorry about that Surly. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Wednesday - I’m still calling it hump day since I used to post the hump day camel after Filbert33 (rip) stopped posting that gif.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris ponders: We need to have the tanking discussion again, don’t we? Well, let’s do it, then.

Unbelievable! - Is it Time to Start Over? BJ Reidell and Drew Mahowald offer their thoughts from the most recent Vikings loss.

Vikings vs Falcons: GMG In The Raw! Is it time? Good Morning Gjallarhorn’s immediate post game reaction to Vikings vs Falcons after one of the worst no show games in Kirk Cousins’ and Mike Zimmer’s history. The Vikes lose 40-23 and it “wasn’t even that close.”

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, and Welcome Aboard!

Topic of the Day: It’s the bye week and to be honest we’ve probably left the competitive portion of the Vikings schedule behind us; so what’s you’re favorite non-football sports memory? (mine is the media selection today).
