Good Morning, It’s Hump Day!

My answer to yesterday’s question of the day: barring multiple short field turnovers by the Packers, I don’t think the Vikings will be competitive in the game this weekend. Today is my last day off for a week so words up here will get shortened as I transition to my on service period. As I posted yesterday, I’m all for a rebuild and drafting a potential Tier 1 QB as a rookie, and as Wayne Gretzky said, “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Wednesday, we’re halfway through the work week!

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Norse Code Podcast Episode 346: The Yannick Ngakoue Trade. Norse Code returns to check in on the potential fire-sale in Eagan. Ngakoue is now a Raven and the Vikings moved down in the draft as a result. We talk about the trade, the state of the team, and Danielle Hunter’s surgery. Arif and James also discuss slow cooking, Ben DiNucci, and choosing a good meat to start smoking on an inferior style of grill.

Unbelievable! - Bye Week Blues. BJ Reidell and Drew Mahowald discuss how the Vikings became a 1-5 football team.

Offensive Player Rankings, Week 8: Top five QBs under 25 I’d build around.

We come to today’s media selection: Disturbed “The Sound Of Silence”

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, and Welcome Aboard!

Topic of the Day: Center Garrett Bradbury has looked improved this season as compared to his rookie season, do you think he’ll progress into the Vikings center of the future?
