We haven’t kept up with our SB Nation Reacts the way we should this year to this point, and we hope to remedy that going forward, no matter how bad it gets.
And when I say that, I can assure you, fellow Minnesota Vikings fans. . .it’s gotten pretty darn bad.
Coming off of their bye week and having traded pass rusher Yannick Ngakoue, fan confidence in the purple is now as low as it’s ever been, with just 8% of respondents to this week’s survey expressing confidence in the direction of the team.
Seems high.
As you can see, it’s been quite the precipitous drop since the unbridled optimism that Vikings fans showed post-draft. In order to more accurately describe the trend, here are all of the numbers going back to the end of last season.
- End of 2019: 84% of Vikings fans express confidence in the direction of the team
- Post-free agency: 49%
- Post-draft: 88%
- Week 1: 88%
- Week 2: 43%
- Week 3: 9%
- Week 4: 18%
- Week 5: 44%
- Week 6: 46%
- Week 7: 15%
- Week 8: 8%
But, you know, there’s still room for it to go down even more. . .and, with Green Bay on the horizon, my guess is that’s exactly what’s going to happen next week.
So, join us next week in our quest to see just how far fan confidence in the Minnesota Vikings can drop between now and the end of the year, because it appears that’s the direction we’re going in.
