Halloween Open Thread

Good Morning, It’s Saturday!

I was trying to figure out why I didn’t post a Saturday thread last week until I remembered I was hunting (unsuccessfully) in Georgia and had little to no wifi access. I’ll go back during my next off service period next week, the weather looks better and from the camera pictures the deer are moving better during the mornings and early evenings. Today is Halloween, a holiday I used to love as a kid and as an adult. Generally I sit at the end of my driveway now and hand out candy, but end up putting the bowl on a table and drinking beer and swapping hunting stories with my neighbors; of course this year I have to work, so basically....I got a rock. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Saturday, time to start the smoker and get the weekend started!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, and Welcome Aboard!
