Merry Wednesday, everyone!

I thought it would be a relaxing and easy week, enjoying the post-win week. Mr. Murphy decided that wasn’t going to happen, and it’s been a bit hectic in the Fishin’ household. My wife, who had not been feeling well over the weekend, was tested for Covid on Saturday, and she sent me a text on Monday letting me know that the test was positive (I’ll still argue to my death that if you have Covid, they should call the test negative, but they call it positive, I guess they like it when people get Covid). So, I thoroughly wiped down my office and everything I had touched since arriving there, then quickly exited stage left. I texted my boss and HR to let them know what was going on, headed home and spent the next several hours cleaning like a madman, getting the home office ready for an extended stay, and adjusting our living arrangements. My wife is pretty much quarantined to our bedroom, I’m staying in an extra bedroom downstairs next to the office, and knowing kiddo was not going to be agreeable to moving out of his room, I asked him if he wanted me to put up our camping tent in the basement den and have a 2-week camp out. I ain’t the sharpest bulb in the shed, but I do have my moments, and that was one of them, it worked like a charm. He happily agreed, and we’re having a good time. Mrs. Fishin’ is feeling better, although still without energy, but we’re letting her get as much rest as she needs. Kiddo and I have been having fun, and I’m making sure he’s doing his kindergarten online classes, and I’m doing my best to get work done. Of course, we’ve been eating lots of grilled food, what else would you expect?

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:

At Vikings.com, Baldy breaks down how the Vikings offense was able to toast the Texans, hear coach Zimmer answer questions from the media yesterday, and there’s lots more to sift through in the media vault.

NDSU QB Trey Lance has announced that he intends to enter the 2021 NFL draft, per NFL.com. There is talk that Lance could be the first QB selected in the draft, and you’ll recall hearing a similar story in 2016 when Carson Wentz came out of NDSU and should have been taken first in the draft, but the Rams chose incorrectly, which allowed the Eagles to snag Wentz with the second overall pick. The Eagles don’t deserve Wentz, but he went there anyway, because he’s from Bismarck and he’s a nice guy (he’s also a Vikings fan). You can’t go wrong selecting someone from North Dakota, so whoever chooses Lance is making the right choice. I hope it’s us.

We come to today’s media selection:

I played this when I came home the other day, my wife didn’t find it as amusing as I thought she would. Enjoy!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, and stay at least six feet away from the waitress.
