Week 6 - Which College Players Are Future Vikings 2020

Butler v North Dakota State Photo by Sam Wasson/Getty Images

Welcome to a preview of week 6 of the 2020 college football season. It is a strange year that has been affected by the Corona virus pandemic. The good news is that they are able to play some games this year.

Below are some of this week’s games with players that could be future Vikings. As always, we must pay particular attention to interior offensive linemen. This year we may also want to pay close attention to interior defensive linemen.

I will highlight some players that I will be watching closely.

As usual I will do a mock because it is what I do.

Currently, the fanspeak simulator has the Vikings picking 11th which seems fair enough for now. I have no faith that they will win many games this year and I think a 5-11 season is about as optimistic as I can be at this point in time.

What will be the biggest need next year? What would make the most sense for this team? Should they draft a QB and let him sit and develop behind Cousins? I think the majority of fans here feel that is the way to go. If they cannot get Lawrence, is Fields or Lance worth a high pick? Will there be a free agent available when Cousins’ contract expires?

They will have different avenues they can take which will affect the fortunes of the team for years. Like trading for Sam Bradford. Just making that one move set the wheels in motion to sign Cousins and not be able to draft Watson or Mahomes.
