Happy Veterans Day, everyone!

Today is Veterans Day, a day when we remember to be thankful to those who fought, because without their bravery, we wouldn’t have the freedoms we have. Take a moment to say thank you to a veteran today if you get a chance.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Reidellr4 posted Unbelievable! - Are the Vikings Back?

Arif stopped by and dropped off Norse Code Podcast Episode 350: Feast with Less Famine.

From Chris, the Vikings placed Austin Cutting on the Covid-19 list, and activated Todd Davis. The team also waived Ben Gedeon and placed Holton Hill on injured reserve.

Chris shared the latest Breaking T design, available now!

Dalvin Cook has been nominated for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week, per Chris. I don’t see anyone else challenging him for that award this week.

Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:

At, the Vikings and the United Heroes League continue their support of military families, Eric Smith assesses the Vikings rookies, and there is a lot more to look through on the home page.

From, NFL owners unanimously approve playoff expansion if Covid-19 forces cancellation of meaningful games.

Here’s a perfect song for Veteran’s Day. Enjoy!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t forget to tip your waitress (from a minimum of six feet away, of course), and try the head cheese.
