Cowboys vs Vikings: Initial injury reports for both teams

Some bad news for the Vikings to start the week

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

It’s a short week for the Minnesota Vikings this week following their 19-13 triumph over the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. So, today marks the day that the first injury reports of the week for the Vikings and their opponents this Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys, are being issued. Let’s take a look at the initial reports for both sides, starting with the visitors.

Did Not Participate

  • OL Tyler Biadasz (hamstring)
  • DE Randy Gregory (illness)

Limited Participation

  • G Zack Martin (calf)

Full Participation

  • QB Andy Dalton (concussion)
  • RB Ezekiel Elliott (hamstring)
  • LB Joe Thomas (wrist)

After playing some quarterback roulette over the past couple of weeks, all indications are that Dalton is going to be ready to go for the Cowboys on Sunday, which would give them a significant upgrade over what they’ve had since he went out. It’s definitely something the Vikings are going to need to be aware of.

Let’s take a look at the injury report for the purple for this Wednesday.

Did Not Participate

  • OL Ezra Cleveland (ankle)
  • FB C.J. Ham (non-injury)

Limited Participation

  • C Garrett Bradbury (shoulder)
  • CB Cameron Dantzler (concussion)
  • DL Hercules Mata’afa (ankle)
  • TE Irv Smith Jr. (groin)

Full Participation

  • DE Ifeadi Odenigbo (shoulder)

Seeing that Cleveland sat out of practice today sets off some alarms. He played every snap in the victory over Chicago at right guard. Irv Smith Jr. is back at practice this week after missing Monday’s game, which is a positive.

Those are your initial injury reports for the Cowboys and the Vikings for this week, folks. We’ll be keeping an eye on these throughout the week.
