Merry Friday, everyone!
We’ve survived another work week, and as a reward we get a Friday and a weekend to enjoy as we see fit. For myself, I will be finishing my Christmas lights. We’re expecting a fairly nice day on Saturday, so that should be all I need to finish my Clark Griswold-esque project so that I’m not up climbing around on the roof and/or a ladder when it’s 20 below and icy. I’ve already gotten 90% of the house done, I just need to put lights on the trees, in the garden, on the sheds, and on the deck, then I should be done......unless someplace has a sale on lights.....or something. I go a little overboard, but my kid encourages me, so it’s his fault, too.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris has the interim injury reports for the Vikings & Cowboys.
The Vikings placed C.J. Ham on the Covid-19 list.
Eric joined Sam Ekstrom and Arif to discuss the latest Vikings win, their next game, and more on Zone Coverage Football Machine.
BJ Reidell and Drew Mahowald preview the Vikings-Cowboys matchup on Unbelievable! - A Chance at .500.
Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:
The Seahawks helped the Vikings’ playoff chances last night, as they defeated the Cardinals on Thursday Night Football, per SI.com.
Unfortunately, it looks like TE Greg Olsen suffered a ruptured fascia in last night’s win, per ESPN. He’s one of the good guys, hate to see that happen.
We come to today’s media selection:
I haven’t annoyed anyone yet today. Here you go! Enjoy?
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t forget to tip your waitress (from a minimum of six feet away, of course), and try the head cheese.
