To start the day on Monday, the Minnesota Vikings only had one player on their reserve/COVID-19 list, guard Dru Samia. On Monday afternoon, they added a second.

And it’s a big one.

Wide receiver Adam Thielen, who currently leads the National Football League with 11 touchdown catches after a two-touchdown day on Sunday, has been added to the team’s COVID-19 list.

Once again, let’s outline what this means. . .and you can sing along with me because you know the words by now:

A team placing a player on their COVID-19 list does not necessarily mean that said player tested positive for COVID-19. It may simply mean that they have been in close contact with someone that has.

Over the past few weeks, the Vikings have had several players go on the reserve/COVID-19 list that have returned in enough time to play in that week’s game. We’ve seen this with cornerback Cameron Dantzler back in Week 8 as well as with fullback C.J. Ham this past week. The team is unable to disclose whether or not a player has actually tested positive, but we’ll have to keep an eye on this one to see just how quickly Thielen is able to return.

Once again, the Minnesota Vikings have placed star wideout Adam Thielen on their reserve/COVID-19 list as of Monday afternoon.
