Good Morning, It’s Thorsday and Thanksgiving!
I’m back on service for the next seven days so the words and links up here might get shortened, I’m almost sure Bookface (obligatory FU bookface) and Twitter will some sort of nonsense of “what I’m thankful for today.” Behind the scenes I have a lot going on at home which has impacted my time to interact here; so today I’m going to be thankful for all of you who have stuck with the DN during the plague that is Coral. If you get tired of the relatives talking politics or the games are boring; mrs_rob and I finished “The Queen’s Gambit” on Netflix yesterday and we’re watching “The Barrier” a dystopian Spanish sci-fi series; highly recommend both. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Thorsday - I was informed this is cultural appropriation, but I’m not smart and still don’t know what that means.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
GreatOdin’s Raven posted: SKOL Search 3: Mock Draft 1.0 with Andrew Harbaugh And Dan Barnes. Tyler breaks down his mock draft 1.0 for the Vikings with Blue Chip Scouting’s Andrew Harbaugh and Coast To Coast Scouting’s Dan Barnes.
Chris ponders: Panthers at Vikings: Initial injury reports for both teams.
Norse Code Episode 354: Overwhelmingly Positive about Being Negative (with guest Billy Marshall). Norse Code returns with a mega double episode for your entire Thanksgiving weekend! We go over the loss to the Cowboys, preview the Panthers with Billy Marshall of the Roar pod, and tackle a huge mailbag. Enjoy the longest episode of the show likely since the original episodes with Dusty and have a great Thanksgiving!
Vikings news from other sources:
‘Hey, Teddy’: Vikings Laud Teddy Bridgewater Before QB’s Return to Play Minnesota.
Presser Points: Zimmer on Panthers Strengths & Facing a Friend.
Cowboys strength and conditioning coach Markus Paul dies at 54.
We come to today’s media selection: WKRP Turkey Drop
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, wear a mask and Welcome Aboard!
