Three Keys

1) Get Justin Jefferson involved immediately - With Adam Thielen not suiting up this week, the focus in the passing game will shift to young #18. He’s been, by far, the best rookie wide receiver in the NFL this year, and has the spotlight to himself here. He’ll undoubtedly get more attention from the Carolina defense in this one, but that’s something he’s going to have to get used to in the future anyway.

2) Get after Teddy Bridgewater - Last week, the Vikings wound up getting just about zero pressure on Andy Dalton all afternoon, and Dalton was able to do largely whatever he wanted. Bridgewater is a whole lot better than Dalton is, so if the Vikings want to slow down an underrated Carolina air attack, they’re going to have to get pressure on their former teammate.

3) Keep playing good special teams - Last week, a lot of the special teams errors that had plagued the Vikings were gone. There were no errant snaps and the questionable return decisions were kept to a minimum. The Vikings don’t need to try to overcome special teams miscues, so they just need to remain solid on that front.

As always, there will be a brand new Open Thread at the start of each quarter, so keep your eyes open for those and keep the discussion moving along accordingly.

With that, the road back to .500 for our favorite football team starts today against Carolina. Here’s hoping we can all get together in a few hours here and talk about how awesome it was.
