Fifteen minutes are in the books from U.S. Bank Stadium, and your Minnesota Vikings lead the Carolina Panthers by a score of 7-0 after one quarter of play.

Carolina got the football first after the Vikings won the toss and chose to defer to the second half. The Panthers got one first down on their first series, but the Vikings then forced them to punt it away. Minnesota pushed their first possession into Carolina territory on a nice, long drive, and concluded it with a 12-yard touchdown strike from Kirk Cousins to Justin Jefferson. Dan Bailey hit the extra point, and the Vikings had a 7-0 lead with a little over five minutes left in the quarter.

The Vikings forced the Panthers to punt again on their second possession, with a penalty on Kris Boyd backing the Vikings up to their own 8-yard line to start the drive. Unfortunately, the Vikings went three-and-out on their drive.

As we move to the second quarter of play, the Panthers are on the move, as they’re looking at a 1st-and-10 from the Vikings’ 22-yard line.

We’re through the first quarter at U.S. Bank Stadium, and your Minnesota Vikings lead the Carolina Panthers by a score of 7-0. Come on in and join us for the second quarter of play!
