Merry hump day, everyone!
Wow, it’s a slow news day, which is okay with me, because this is going to be brief, I’ve been busy the past few nights tearing out the sink in my garage and getting the area prepped so I can put in a new cabinet. I was a little bummed that I had to take out the tile backsplash, but then I reminded myself that I get to put in a new one and I was happy again. I’m looking forward to doing that. There will be pictures.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Arif was here to drop off the Norse Code Podcast Episode 348: The Perfect (Wind) Storm.
Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:
Despite the Jets’ winless record and possibly being one of the worst NFL teams in recent history, GM Joe Douglas stated that Adam Gase is part of the solution, and that Sam Darnold is the future, per NFL.com. @I’m sure that Jets fans feel better now that he has reassured them@
The Titans are planning to release OLB Vic Beasley today, according to NFL.com. Beasley was the 8th pick overall in the 2015 draft, but struggled his last couple years in Atlanta prior to this very short stint in Tennessee.
ESPN has a trade tracker where you can catch up on yesterday’s pre-deadline activity.
We come to today’s media selection:
I love me some Waylon Jennings, here’s Lonesome, On’ry, and Mean. Enjoy! (I know it’s spelled ornery, but that’s how they spell it on the song title, and I’m not one to argue with Waylon)
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer}
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t forget to tip your waitress (from a minimum of six feet away, of course), and try the head cheese.
