It’s halftime in Minneapolis, and your Minnesota Vikings lead the Detroit Lions by a score of 20-10 in Week 9 NFL action.

Detroit started the quarter with the ball down two scores, and pushed into Minnesota territory to a first-and-goal situation. A nice stop by the Vikings’ defense on 3rd-and-goal from the 1-yard line made the Lions settle for a 23-yard Matt Prater field goal to the the visiting team on the board at 13-3.

After the Vikings were forced to punt it away, the Lions put together another long drive, and this time they hit paydirt on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford to Marvin Jones. Prater added the extra point, and the lead for Minnesota was down to 13-10 with just over a minute left in the half.

With all their timeouts remaining, the Vikings put together an incredibly impressive two-minute drill, with Dalvin Cook running the ball and Kirk Cousins hitting some nice passes. The drive concluded with a nice screen pass to Ameer Abdullah for a 21-yard score, with Dan Bailey’s extra point making it 20-10 going into the locker room at halftime.

The Vikings’ offense has again run through Dalvin Cook, as he’s carried the ball nine times for 66 yards and a score, in addition to adding two receptions for 46 yards. That makes him the Vikings’ leading receiver as well.

Cousins has had another efficient half of football, completing 9-of-11 passes for 169 yards and a pair of score. He’s hit a number of different receivers, as Adam Thielen (38 yards) and Kyle Rudolph (32 yards) each have a pair of catches, while Justin Jefferson (22 yards), Ameer Abdullah (22 yards and a score) and Irv Smith Jr. (nine yards and a score) each have one reception.

The Vikings will get the ball coming out of the locker room at halftime, and they have a 20-10 lead over the Detroit Lions at U.S. Bank Stadium. Come join us for the third quarter!
