One month remains in this very strange year we call 2020

NFL: Carolina Panthers at Minnesota Vikings Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Ya’ know, it’s been a day & a half since the game ended, and I’m still waiting for a ref to throw a flag or something & give the Panthers another try at the field goal. As a Vikings fan, I’m just not accustomed to those type of games ending in a win for the good guys. I could get used to it, though; let someone else get kicked in the gonads for a while.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris fills us in on who the Vikings’ emergency quarterback would be. This is stemming from the Broncos quarterback fiasco on Sunday (yes, worse than their normal weekly quarterback fiasco). I’m sure you’ve all heard that the QBs were all in a meeting together that week, not wearing masks, then the next day, one of them tests positive for Covid, and they all had to quarantine and miss Sunday’s game. As I heard it, they were all 6 feet or more apart, but didn’t have masks on. Okay, so if I was one of those Broncos quarterbacks or the coach who was in that meeting, and the next day I found out that the one guy tested positive for Covid, I would IMMEDIATELY call every single person that was with me in that meeting. The convo would go something like “yeah, you heard Billy Bob tested postitive for Covid, right? Yeah, that’s too bad, but he’ll be fine, just sleep for a week or so. Hey, remember that meeting we had on Wednesday? Yeah, that one. Yeah, ya’ know, it’s a good thing we were all wearing masks, isn’t it? Man, if we hadn’t, we’d have to miss Sunday’s game. Whew! Dodged a bullet there, huh? Yeah, lucky for us that WE ALL HAS MASKS ON, ISN’T IT? Yeah, you get it. Alright man, see ya’ at the game Sunday, keep wearing that mask!” Goofballs.

GA Skol has your weekly player recap, along with in-depth analysis of Sunday’s crazy win.

Luft Krigare and the gang are back, and they’re as shocked as I am, they bring you Vikings vs Panthers: GMG In The Raw! Vikings Win?

Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:

The Seahawks beat the Eagles on Monday Night Football last night, from FoxSports. I hear rumblings about a QB change in Philly, an idea which, in my opinion, is as stupid as someone eating horse poop. There are 99 problems on that team, but Wentz ain’t one of them. They should change quarterbacks, Wentz deserves a better team than that.

In this week’s episode of “IT’S ABOUT TIME”, SI.com brings us the news that Matt Patricia and GM Bob Quinn have both been fired by the Lions organization.

We come to today’s media selection:

Anyone who owns a cat will understand this, here’s Sad Cat Diary. Enjoy!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t forget to tip your waitress (from a minimum of six feet away, of course), and try the tiger meat.
