A couple of changes for both teams

It’s time to take a look at the second injury reports of the week for both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and your Minnesota Vikings to see how the bumps and bruises are progressing as the teams prepare for Sunday’s matchup.

As we generally do, we’ll start with the visiting team.

Did Not Participate

  • LB Eric Kendricks (calf)
  • RB Alexander Mattison (illness)
  • TE Kyle Rudolph (foot)

Limited Participation

  • C Garrett Bradbury (abdomen)
  • G Ezra Cleveland (ankle)
  • CB Jeff Gladney (calf)
  • OT Riley Reiff (ankle)
  • TE Irv Smith Jr. (back, upgrade from DNP on Wednesday)
  • DE D.J. Wonnum (ankle/back)

Full Participation

  • OL Brett Jones (neck)

Only one change for the Vikings, but it’s a pretty significant one given the Vikings’ situation at tight end. Irv Smith Jr., who has missed three of the last four games for the purple with a couple of injuries, was back at practice on Thursday, albeit in a limited capacity. Still, it’s progress.

Now, on to the home team.

Did Not Participate

  • CB Jamel Dean (groin)
  • WR Mike Evans (hamstring, downgrade from LP on Wednesday)
  • TE Rob Gronkowski (non-injury, new addition to injury report)

Limited Participation

  • DT Steve McLendon (elbow, upgrade from DNP on Wednesday)
  • LB Jason Pierre-Paul (knee)
  • OT Donovan Smith (ankle)

Full Participation

  • LB Lavonte David (non-injury, upgrade from DNP on Wednesday)
  • WR Chris Godwin (finger, upgrade from DNP on Wednesday)

The big news here, obviously, is Mike Evans sitting out of Thursday’s practice. Maybe the Bucs are just being cautious with him, but that’s not a good sign for his prospects for Sunday. David and Godwin returning to practice, on the other hand, are good signs for the home team.

Final injury reports will be ready tomorrow afternoon, and we’ll bring them to you as soon as we get them.
