Tuesday Open Thread

NFL: JUL 30 Vikings Training Camp

Good Morning, It’s Thorsday!

Checks calendar, oh wait it’s Tuesday. I got a text from Gone Fishin last night, his AOL was acting up and he couldn’t connect to the internet, so I’m your fill in guy for the day, as usual we blame Ponder. All jokes aside if you look below (and in the Fanpost section-for now anyway) you’ll see long time DN’er and Lord of the Barbecue Admiral Biggun is doing his annual fundraiser for Special Olympics in Minnesota. It’s become a tradition for some of the Open Thread regulars to donate to that worthy cause, even though not all of us live in Minnesota; I’ll be moving and keeping his Fanpost on the front page until the end of the month, please give if you can. Since I’m the Village Idiot and this is a sports blog here’s my hawt taek of the day: The Vikings should keep Dan Bailey at kicker and let him kick his way out of his slump. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Tuesday, but it’s my Thorsday and my week is almost over.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

We come to today’s media selection:
Charlie Pride Greatest hits 2019 - Best of Charlie Pride

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, try the tiger meat, and Welcome Aboard!
