Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints: Interim injury reports

Only minor changes for each side

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars at Minnesota Vikings Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

With kickoff at the Superdome a little under 48 hours away, the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints have both released their second injury reports of the week. Each side made just one small change to their initial reports, so let’s see what those were. As always, we’ll start with the visiting side.

Yes, still a ton of players not practicing for the purple, just in case we thought that only having a walkthrough on Tuesday would change things. Things are going to get very interesting when the final report comes out tomorrow.

The Saints made just one change on their injury report as well.

Did Not Participate

  • OL Nick Easton (concussion)
  • WR Tre’Quan Smith (ankle)
  • S Marcus Williams (ankle)

Limited Participation

  • DT Malcolm Brown (calf)
  • DE Carl Granderson (neck)
  • DE Trey Hendrickson (neck)
  • OL Andrus Peat (ankle, upgrade from DNP on Tuesday)

The Saints upgraded one player from DNP to limited participation on Wednesday’s report. That player was Andrus Peat, who you might remember as the guy that was regularly getting smoked in last year’s Wild Card playoff game. Luckily for him, neither Danielle Hunter nor Everson Griffen is looming this time around, so he has a chance of actually looking competent.

Final injury reports will come out tomorrow, folks. Here’s hoping that a bunch of guys on the Vikings’ roster suddenly find a little bit of health, or a difficult battle on Christmas Day is just going to be that much harder.
