Good Morning and Merry Christmas!
To be honest, I almost forgot the Vikings have a game today, work yesterday was a huge kick in the gonads, plus I’m on my work rotation so I don’t pay much attention to anything other than work and sleep. Pictured above is a gif of one of our favorite Christmas movies. If you’re home with family today or have to work I hope you have a great day and Christmas. Please take a moment of your day to acknowledge our service members deployed overseas or at sea as they spend time away from their family. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Christmas, time to put up with relatives you only have to see once a year.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints: Final injury reports. Five players ruled out for the Vikings.
Minnesota Vikings Power Rankings Roundup: Week 16. Another loss, another drop.
Justin Jefferson sits down for roundtable with other Vikings’ Rookie of the Year receivers.
Vikings news from other sources:
From Vikings.com: Justin Jefferson Amped for New Orleans Homecoming Game vs. Saints.
NFL Expert Picks: Vikings Road Underdogs at Saints.
Vikings in the Community: Team Spreads Holiday Cheer Throughout Twin Cities.
League News:
NFL Week 16 game picks: Saints over Vikings; Packers top Titans.
Raiders’ Jon Gruden coy on QB situation, but all signs indicate Derek Carr to start vs. Dolphins.
We come to today’s media selection: Christmas Hits Classics Songs
featuring: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, tip your waiter from a safe distance, have another beer, and Welcome Aboard!
