NFL: Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Merry Christmas to all of you out there from all of us at The Daily Norseman! As we know, the Minnesota Vikings will be taking the field this afternoon to take on the New Orleans Saints, and it’s the only game in town for the NFL on this Friday. We want to make sure that you have the ability to follow along with all of the action, so let’s put all of that info in one place for you to be able to do just that.

Television Info

Kickoff for this one is going to be slightly later than the usual start time, as things will get underway from the Superdome at 3:30 PM Central time. This game will be aired on FOX stations around the country, including KSTP-9 in Minneapolis. We don’t need to give you a map for this one, nor do we need to tell you where you’ll find it on Sunday Ticket. Just turn on FOX and it will be there, with. . .sigh. . .Joe Buck and Troy Aikman on the call.

For our men and women in uniform overseas, this game will be aired LIVE on the American Forces Network, specifically on AFN Sports 2. Kickoff for this one is slated for 2130Z, which equates to 2230L for viewers in Central Europe, 0200L on Saturday morning for fans in Afghanistan, and 0630L on Saturday morning for everyone in Japan and Korea.

Radio Info

Once again, the Vikings Radio Network and all of its affiliates will be bringing you live broadcasts of every Vikings game for 2020. If you’re traveling around an area where there’s an affiliate or you just prefer the radio to the television, check out their site and find the affiliate in your area.

For those with satellite radio, you can find the Vikings feed for this contest on either Sirius Channel 82 or XM Channel 226. There will also be a national broadcast courtesy of Westwood One, featuring Scott Graham and Ross Tucker, which you can hear on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Channel 88 on both the Sirius and XM dials. If you’re using the SiriusXM app, the Vikings’ permanent home there can be found on Channel 820.

Referee Info

According to the folks at Football Zebras, the officiating crew that drew the Christmas Day assignment will be led by Adrian Hill. If that name doesn’t sound familiar, that’s because this is just his second year as an NFL head referee, and this will be the first game that he does involving the Vikings in that capacity.

Weather Info

No weather playing a factor in New Orleans today with the game being indoors and what not. There won’t be any fans in the building or any tailgating or any fun of any kind, so the weather won’t play a role in that, either. Damn shame because, according to our friends at WeatherNation, it would be a nice day for it, with temperatures at kickoff time sitting at about 50 degrees with winds of 5-10 miles/hour out of the northwest.

Streaming Info

Since this is a FOX game, there aren’t any legal streaming options on their site or anything for this one. I believe a lot of the cord-cutting services offer some sort of streaming option, and there’s always NFL GamePass if you don’t have any of those. Heck, you can even get Sunday Ticket on your PlayStation or XBox, if nothing else.

In the spirit of the legendary Bob Casey, there will be no illegal streams here on the Daily Norseman. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO illegal streams here on the Daily Norseman. Promoting such things is grounds for an immediate and permanent ban. Don’t be one of those troll accounts that we get here every so often that we ban across the entire platform.

That should be all of the relevant information you need to follow all of the action from the Superdome on Christmas Day between the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints. As always, the Game Threads will start flowing approximately an hour before kickoff, so we hope to see you here then.
