The guys gather to look at the state of the team we all love, the Minnesota Vikings. After giving up so many points to the Saints, will the Vikings need change? How will they do against the Lions who have seemed to cash in the season? How will that effect the Vikes draft status? This and much more... Join us and hop into the conversation.
After the Vikings loss to the Saints, the CTPN personalities look at causes, look into the Lions game ahead, then into the future and some of the bets it will take to be a Super Bowl team. Those big bets are usually for a quarterback, wide receiver, and head coach. Trying to win as presently structured, the team needs to have everything on the defensive side work almost perfectly to make up for some irritating deficiencies on the offensive side. Well, injuries happen and have devastated the Vikings defense this season culminating in the beat down by the New Orleans Saints. The Vikings throughout history, at least since Bud Grant, have always been competitive and have had very few times with losing consecutive seasons and are set up more to prevent a ruined stretch of football versus set up to win a Super Bowl. Currently, part of this may be Mike Zimmer’s and Gary Kubiak’s propensity to run the football versus going to a more explosive air game to keep himself and Rick Spielman employed. Next year does not look any better when the Vikings will be playing teams from the AFC North in the NFC West which this season are generating at least two if not three playoff teams per division.
Will the Vikings draft a quarterback high or continue with the same approach they have in the 2020 season? What do you think?
As always, enjoy the watch and listen! Stay safe, stay healthy and GO VIKINGS!
