Good Morning!
One final game of the 2019 season tomorrow, I thought it was an odd year for the Vikings. They won 10 games in the regular season but it felt like they could have won more games with better play selection or a lucky bounce here or there. I will get a game thread together today or tomorrow for the Owl. Like I said last week, I don’t think plugging in a rookie or two and signing a couple of free agents will do the trick for building the roster. Meanwhile, let’s carry on with our news and links open thread full of beer recommendations, nap strategies, crock pot and smoker recipes. Drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and I’m making burgers and bratwurst on the grill tomorrow for the Owl, what are you making?
Around the DN since our last open thread:
2020 NFL Draft: A change in the Vikings’ potential selections notes Chris.
Vikings news from other sources:
From Vikings.com The Voice of the Vikings, Paul Allen, is back again for another edition of the Pick 6, and he addresses fan comments and questions about the team’s new setup on defense with co-defensive coordinators, Gary Kubiak taking over as Offensive Coordinator, if Anthony Harris might re-sign with the team, which Vikings might make their first Pro Bowl in 2021 and more.
5 Things to Know About New Vikings Asst. OL Coach Phil Rauscher.
Lunchbreak: The Athletic Breaks Down Vikings Coaching Changes.
Mike Zimmer on Assessing 2019 Season, Assistant Coaches and Kendricks’ All-Pro Year.
Matthew Coller at SkorNorth.com has: The future of the Vikings part 7: Linebackers and specialists.
I’ll start posting NFC North News next weekend.
League News:
Consistent with the weekend thread, I’ll post league news in the comments section.
We come to today’s media selection:

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waiter, and Welcome Aboard!
