Good Morning!

How was everyone’s Valentine’s Day yesterday? Was it filled with romance, cards, flowers or curmudgeonly posts on a football blog? I’m taking the mrs out for dinner tonight, we’re going to try and catch Parasite at the theatre this weekend. She has to work part of the weekend so I’m going to peek at the XFL games to see what the hype is all about. Today’s lead picture is one of my all time favorite Vikings, Percy Harvin. I’m going to continue our 70’s revival today with a little ACDC from 1974. Meanwhile, let’s carry on with our news and links open thread full of beer recommendations, nap strategies, crock pot and smoker recipes. Drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and put a brisket on the smoker and open a cold one, it’s the weekend and you deserve it.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Ted ponders: Should I Stay or Should I Go? Looking at upcoming roster decisions on some key personnel, Everson Griffen in this edition.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com The Voice of the Vikings, Paul Allen, recently sat down with Offensive Coordinator Gary Kubiak to talk about the offense in 2019 and Kirk Cousins’ role in that, what he appreciates about Dalvin Cook, Brian O’Neill’s athleticism, the youth at all three skill positions and how those players could evolve in 2020, and more.

Panel & Fans Vote on Vikings Best OL from 2010-19.

Matthew Coller at SkorNorth.com pens: Should the Vikings be interested in Josh Rosen?

Mock Draft Time:

I’m going to do something different on the articles I post, we’re going to take a look at potential draftees. I’ll present the potential future Vikings and we’ll vote. I’ll be using thedraftnetwork.com simulator. Here’s what I was looking at with the most recent mock draft: link.

I selected Jordan Love, QB Utah State - link to draft profile.

Obviously the selection of a QB in the first round is going to depend on whether the Vikings extend current QB Kirk Cousins, which although I’m not in favor of, I’d expect an extension this offseason. If they don’t extend Cousins the Vikings can draft someone with the idea that player can ride the bench as the QB2 for a year and start the following.

League News:

Consistent with the weekend thread, I’ll post league news in the comments section.

We come to today’s media selection: ACDC - Can I Sit Next to You Girl (1974)

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waiter, and Welcome Aboard!
