It’s the week before the NFL Scouting Combine, and around here that can only mean one thing.
That’s right, folks. . .it’s time for the return of the one, the only, the original Minnesota Vikings Mock Draft Database!
You’ve seen a lot of sites around the internet that keep track of mock drafts, but honestly. . .who the hell cares about those other 31 teams, am I right? We know you’re here for the hawtest Minnesota Vikings draft takes, and that’s what we’re going to continue to bring you.
For the uninitiated among you, let me give you the basics of the Mock Draft Database.
Starting tomorrow with the Pre-Combine version, yours truly is going to aggregate a whole bunch of mock drafts. We’ll start out with about 30, because we haven’t fully hit what the kids might refer to as “MOCK DRAFT SZN” yet. (Why the hell do the kids abbreviated “season” as SZN? I dunno, I’m old. . .I hate everything but Matlock.) Then, as we get closer to the actual NFL Draft, we’ll continue adding more mocks to the overall total, and gradually weed out the ones that haven’t been updated in a while.
By doing this, we hope to help everyone visualize who the experts have the Vikings looking at as we get closer to 23 April in Las Vegas, showing the trends from the Pre-Combine version of the Database all the way to the final version and watching players rise and fall as we go through Pro Days and Free Agency and everything else.
We started doing the Mock Draft Database back in 2013, and have done it nearly every year since. We didn’t do one in 2017 because the Vikings didn’t have a first round pick that year. If you’d like to go back and get re-familiarized, here are all of our Mock Draft Databases for you to check out!
I’m going to be playing around a little bit with how the data is presented, but the main components of the Mock Draft Database will remain the same.
So, aside from the XFL, we’ve got something for you to look forward to for your Saturday, folks. We hope you’ll stop by and check it out!
