Good Morning!

The Daily Norseman Mock Draft Database™ starts today, and I’m rapidly running out of ideas for a first round selection with out current draft pick; maybe this will finally be the year I break down and pay for some additional access so I can do trades and look at different players. The XFL continues this weekend, I still haven’t caught a full game but I am seeing highlights on the Twitterz which is nice. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and enjoy your weekend and have a beer for those of us that have to work.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

The Minnesota Vikings Mock Draft Database returns today per Chris.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com The Voice of the Vikings, Paul Allen, recently sat down with Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer to discuss the recent changes and additions to the defensive coaching staff and how that could freshen things up moving forward, and also explains the importance of next week’s Scouting Combine and what’s most important about the week to him.

Lunchbreak: ‘Elite’ Eric Kendricks Tabbed by PFF as ‘Most-Improved’ Viking.

Panel Recalls Top Vikings Moments, Teams from 2010-19.

Judd Zulgad at SkorNorth.com ponders: Five Vikings players who could have a much bigger impact in 2020.

Mock Draft Time:

I’m going to continuing doing mock drafts (first round only) on the articles I post, we’re going to take a look at potential draftees. I’ll present the potential future Vikings and we’ll vote. I’ll be using thedraftnetwork.com simulator. Here’s what I was looking at with the most recent mock draft: link.

I selected Patrick Queen, LB, LSU. - link to draft profile.

I’m going to have to change big boards here soon, starting to see the same patient, or possibly do this once a week or so. Anyway, there were players rated higher, but they were RB’s and in today’s game with RB’s being devalued a first round selection of a RB probably isn’t in the cards. Mr. Queen’s should a be an every down LB and easily capable of replacing everyone on the current LB roster except Kendricks and Barr.

League News:

Consistent with the weekend thread, I’ll post league news in the comments section.

We come to today’s media selection: Blue Oyster Cult - Godzilla

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waiter, and Welcome Aboard!
