Good Morning!
Gone Fishin and his family are on vacation from Hoth for a while, he told me how long he’d be gone but I forgot/or more likely wasn’t paying attention. I sent him a Pony Express card text last week but never heard back from him. Johnny Cash’s birthday is February 26th, this week’s music selections will be devoted to him. Today is Monday for the 5th day in a row for me, and it’s your Monday too, we should all take the day off. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and put in some extra hours at work today...just kidding, get out while you can.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Sometimes, Sports Matters from Ted. (and sometimes I don’t wonder why we don’t get nice things)
Also from Ted: The Salary Cap and Harrison Smith. One contract option that’s not really being talked about.
Chris has your Minnesota Vikings 2020 Mock Draft Database, Pre-Combine version.
Vikings Off Season Plan v5.0 from MarkSP18.
Vikings news from other sources:
From Vikings.com 5 Takeaways from Daniel Jeremiah’s Pre-Combine Conference Call.
Matthew Coller at SkorNorth.com ponders: Should the Vikings re-sign Everson Griffen?
League News:
2020 NFL Scouting Combine: Biggest questions for top five QBs.
Irsay: Colts ‘open-minded’ about Jacoby Brissett, QB situation.
2020 NFL free agency matchmaking: One fit for each NFC team.
Three-round 2020 NFL mock draft 2.0: Trades shake up Round 1.
We come to today’s media selection: Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire (Audio)
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waiter, and Welcome Aboard!
