Weekend Eve Open Thread

Portrait of Bud Grant

Good Morning!

The NFL Combine is going on this week/weekend and you know what interests me about it? Run Rich Run. Mad props to the young man (I looked, he’s four years younger than me) who runs the 40 yard dash in a full suit for charity. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Friday, you should have a long lunch and leave work early to avoid the corona virus.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com ESPN Draft Analyst Mel Kiper Jr. talked with former Vikings LB Ben Leber at the scouting combine to discuss some mid-round options for the Vikings when it comes to QBs and WRs, and also preview the upcoming draft from a national perspective.

Ben Leber caught up with NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano to discuss who has stood out to him at the podium this week, how he would assess the 2019 season for the Vikings, a possible extension for Kirk Cousins, and more.

ProFootballTalk.com’s Mike Florio joined Paul Allen, Ben Leber and Paul Charchian live from the Scouting Combine on Wednesday.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waiter, and Welcome Aboard!
