Did everyone make it through Groundhog Day?

Happy Monday, everyone!

Did everyone make it to work today? I know everyone likes to over-do it on Groundhog Day, so I hope all of you kept yourselves under control and were able to make it work today. The results we’ve all been waiting for are in, and no, Puxtawney Phil did NOT see his shadow, which means we are supposed to have an early spring. in North Dakota, ‘early spring’ means spring will arrive in May instead of June. Yay.

Oh yeah, with all the Groundhog Day craziness, you may not have realized that there was something else happening. Did you happen to catch the professional football contest on TV yesterday? Oh, it was a most amazing game, the 49ers of San Francisco took on the Chiefs of Kansas City. In the end, the Chiefs triumphed by moving an oblong pigskin ball across the 49ers defensive boundary line........ twice. It was a most ripping victory.

Seriously, though, that was a very good game. The Chiefs defense kept the game within reach, then the Chiefs offense turned it on in the fourth quarter, took the game over, and gave the Chiefs their first championship in 50 years. Congratulations to the Chiefs on a great season, and for a great team win yesterday.

I don’t watch the halftime show, never do, and for good reason. I walked into the house yesterday during halftime, and I momentarily thought my wife was watching porn. I wouldn’t have a heart attack over such a thing, but with our son nearby (he was out in the garage with me, working on guy projects and watching the game on mute), I would expect her to watch that type of programming in a more private location. I was about to mention this to her, but then I realized she wasn’t actually watching porn, she was just watching the halftime show. I got my son out of the room. What’s in store for next year, the Chippendales? Might as well hire them in the name of gender equality, keep things in balance & all that jazz. Maybe Billy Ray Cirus can come out of retirement for it, could sing Achy Breaky Heart whilst gyrating on stage. I don’t care, I won’t be watching anyway. Good grief.

We come to today’s media selection:

In case you missed the earlier reference, this is from Coming to America.

We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, and try the tiger meat.
