Now that the Compensatory Selections for the 2020 NFL Draft have officially been announced, we can take a moment to run down all of the picks the Minnesota Vikings have as we get closer to this April’s selection meeting.
As things stand right now, here is the full complement of picks for the purple:
- Round 1, #25 overall
- Round 2, #58 overall
- Round 3, #89 overall
- Round 3, #105 overall (Compensatory, loss of Sheldon Richardson)
- Round 4, #132 overall
- Round 6, #205 overall
- Round 7, #219 overall (Trade of Danny Isidora to the Miami Dolphins)
- Round 7, #239 overall
- Round 7, #249 overall (Compensatory, loss of Trevor Siemian)
- Round 7, #253 overall (Compensatory, loss of Tom Compton)
As we know, the Vikings don’t have their fifth-round pick in this year’s draft, as they used it to light a fire under Dan Bailey’s ass acquire Kaare Vedvik from the Baltimore Ravens during Training Camp.
This gives the Vikings ten picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, including four in the all-important seventh round. I know we give Rick Spielman crap for stockpiling those late round picks, but given that he’s hit on a number of them with guys like Stephen Weatherly and Jayron Kearse (among others), it appears that having that many picks late isn’t a bad thing at all.
