Time is winding down and we should know on Sunday or Monday if there is a new CBA. I am going to assume that the negotiated agreement will pass even though there are some players who make a lot of money saying the agreement is terrible. I am not going to go into detail about what is in the proposal. All I know for sure is that they did not negotiate reasonable prices for concessions in every stadium. The Falcons do it on their own but the majority of the owners could care less about the costs to attend a game.
This is the 7th plan and I will assume that there will be a new CBA.
In version 1, Griffen, Rhodes, Reiff, and Joseph were released. Harris, Kearse, Waynes, Wilson, Ham, Bailey, and Colquitt were all re-signed. Joe Thuney and Danny Shelton were added as free agents. The first round pick was Jacob Eason QB Washington after trading down to #28.

In version 2, Griffen, Rhodes, Reiff, and Joseph were released. Diggs, Hunter, Barr, and Thielen were restructured. Harris, Sendejo, Waynes, Wilson, Ham, Bailey, and Colquitt were all re-signed. Joe Thuney, Jack Conklin, and Michael Pierce were added as free agents. The first round pick was Justin Herbert QB Oregon after trading #25 and our 2021 first to move up to #10.

In version 3, Griffen’s was released (contract voided). Rhodes, Reiff, Joseph, Diggs, Hunter, Barr, and Thielen were restructured. Alexander, Kearse, Sendejo, Wilson, Ham, Bailey, Colquitt, and Griffen were all re-signed. The first round pick was Isaiah Wilson OT Georgia.

In version 4, Griffen and Rhodes were released. Diggs, Barr, and Joseph were restructured. Cousins and Cook were extended while Harris, Alexander, Wilson, Ham, Bailey, and Colquitt were all re-signed. Joe Thuney was added as a free agent. The first round pick was Xavier McKinney S Alabama.

In version 5, Griffen voided his deal. Rhodes, Reiff, and Joseph were released. Diggs, Hunter, Barr, and Thielen were restructured. Kearse, Alexander, Wilson, Ham, Weatherly, Bailey, and Colquitt were all re-signed. Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Danny Shelton, Marcus Mariota, and Deon Bush were added as free agents. The first round pick was Yetur Gross-Matos DE Penn State.

In version 6, Griffen voided his deal. Rhodes, Reiff, and Joseph were released. Hunter, Barr, and Thielen were restructured. Kearse, Alexander, Wilson, Ham, Bailey, and Colquitt were all re-signed. Joe Thuney, Andrew Billings, Ronald Blair, and Deon Bush were added as free agents. Diggs and the #25 pick was traded to the Cardinals for the #8 pick. The first round pick was Tristan Wirfs OT Iowa.

Suffice it to say that there was plenty of objections in each and every one of these plans.
Cutting all he veterans was not totally acceptable.
Restructuring so many deals was frowned upon because it is not a normal practice of the Vikings. But neither is having so little cap space.
Drafting Eason in the 1st round was a kind of a MEH pick.
Trading up for Herbert was not well received.
Extending Cousins was really not liked and extending Cook was also met with resistance.
Signing Mariota was not popular.
Trading Diggs and our 1st to go get Wirfs was also generally not very popular.
It is a given that these plans will always face some criticisms as other folks have different ideas. It is difficult to come up with a plan that the majority will endorse.
That is why I just do my own thing. :)
In this new plan we will be fairly conservative where we bring almost everyone back and hope to get two 3rd round compensatory picks for Harris and Waynes.
Here we go ...
Cap space - $1,379,736
Cut Rhodes - Cap space - $9,489,736
Restructure Joseph 4.5 mil - Cap space - $12,427,236
Restructure Hunter 4 mil - Cap space - $15,427,236
Restructure Barr 8 mil - Cap space - $21,427,236
Restructure Diggs 8 mil - Cap space - $27,427,236
Extend Kearse (26 years old) with a 3 yr 10.5 mil deal; Cap space - $25,227,236
Extend Bailey (32 years old) with a 2 yr 5 mil deal; Cap space - $23,737,236
Extend Colquitt (34 years old) with a 2 yr 4.5 mil deal; Cap space - $22,497,236
Extend Ham (26 years old) with a 1 yr 2.144 mil (RFA tender) deal; Cap space - $20,863,236
Extend Wilson (25 years old) with a 1 yr 2.144 mil (RFA tender) deal; Cap space - $19,229,236
Extend Griffen (32 years old) with a 3 yr 27 mil deal; Cap space - $14,739,236
Extend Andrew Sendejo (26 years old) to a 2 yr 4 mil deal; Cap space - $13,249,236
Extend Sean Mannion (26 years old) to a 1 yr 1.25 mil deal; Cap space - $12,509,236
Sign Joe Haeg OG/OT (26 years old) to a 3 year 8.25 mil deal; Cap space - $10,270,486
Sign Kevin Johnson CB (27 years old) to a 3 year 15 mil deal; Cap space - $7,781,736
After these moves the Vikings have $7,781,736 to sign their draft picks which should cost between 2 and 3 mil.
Note: You could not restructure Joseph and would still have about 4.8 mil remaining.
Now, as we head to the draft, the roster looks like this ...
The QBs would be Cousins, Mannion, and Browning
The RBs would be Cook, Mattison, Boone, Brooks-James
The TEs would be Rudolph, Smith, Conklin, Morgan, Dillon
The WRs would be Diggs, Thielen, Johnson, Beebe, Hollins, Mitchell, Davis
The OTs would be O’Neill, Reiff, Haeg, and Udoh
The OGs would be Elflein, Collins, Kline, and Samia
The OC would be Bradbury
The DTs would be Joseph, Stephen, Johnson, Holmes, Watts, and Cothran
The DEs would be Hunter, Griffen, Odenigbo, Mata’afa, and Yarbrough.
The LBs would be Barr, Kendricks, Wilson, Smith, Gedeon, and Cliett
The CBs would be Hughes, Johnson, Hill, Boyd, Meadors, Hall, Fields
The safeties would be Smith, Kearse, and Sendejo
The LS is Cutting
The K is Bailey
The P is Colquitt
We have the #25, 58, 89, 105, 132, 205, 219, 239, 249, & 253 picks.
