The Vikings traded their best wide receiver from the 2019 season.

Their secondary is currently going through a mass exodus, and the safety they franchise tagged is likely getting moved in a trade.

They waived their starting right guard who may have been their second best performer on the offensive line—for a big dead cap hit.

But it isn’t all doom and gloom for the purple and gold this offseason. They have a metric ton of draft picks in the 2020 draft. They extended their quarterback, fullback, and punter to new deals. They signed a run-stuffing defensive tackle to replace Linval Joseph.

And now, they have their kicker back.

On Thursday afternoon, the Vikings announced that Dan Bailey would be returning for this third season with the team:

According to KSTP’s Darren Wolfson, the new contract is a three-year deal. As of this posting, the exact terms haven’t been released, but we’ll update when they’re available.

Does re-signing a relatively reliable kicker address all the questions swirling around the Vikings roster at this point? Of course not. But at the very least, it’s one less thing to worry about.
