With the Minnesota Vikings having acquired a second first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft this week, we’re going to take this opportunity to do what we did the last time the Vikings did something like this in the pre-draft process.
There will be no Mock Draft Database this weekend, as we allow the mock drafts around the internet to get “recalibrated” to the fact that the Vikings now have two picks in the first round.
This is similar to the way the Database was done in 2013, when the Vikings acquired a second pick in the first round because of the Percy Harvin trade. It took the mocks around the internet some time to catch up.
Also, as I believe we did in that situation, we will jump our number of mocks up from 60 to 80 in next week’s version. There would have been 70 in this week’s version had we done one, so we’ll skip that and go straight to 80.
This means that there should be at least four more iterations of the Mock Draft Database for this year, and hopefully five. There will be one for each of the next four weekends, and I will make every effort to have one out there on either the day before or the day of the 2020 NFL Draft, barring any significant changes.
With that, my apologies for there not being a Mock Draft Database for this week, but we will be right back on top of things next week with 80 mocks tracking what the Minnesota Vikings are projected to do in this year’s NFL Draft.
