Vikings Off Season Plan v9.0

Keep dreaming

College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl - Alabama v Oklahoma Photo by Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images

This plan is pure fantasy. It’s another ALL-IN version where we go for it!

So far the best signing has been Michael Pierce. Maybe some would argue Cousins extension was the best but that opens up a whole can of worms.

The Vikings lost 3 starting corners from last year and put the franchise tag on Harris. They cut one guard who many feel was the best on the team.

They traded Diggs.

They restructured Hunter and the question most are asking is why? There must be a subsequent move.

This is where I speculate.

Right now, overthecap has the Vikings with $14,290,052 in cap space but that is without Hill’s number which probably takes it down about 1.5 mil or so.

2024 $59,000,000 $256,000,000 $197,000,000

With the 13 mil remaining I could see signing two out of these three free agents ...

Nickel Robey-Coleman, Damarious Randall, Breshad Perriman.

One note, Hunter has a 17 mil cap hit in 2021 and in this plan he would get a new reworked 5 yr 100 mil deal with a 30 mil signing bonus. It would lower his cap hit to 12 mil in 2021 and he would only have a 14 mil cap hit in 2022.

That would increase the 2021 cap space to 17.638 mil.

Heading to the draft the roster looks like ...

After draft roster ...

QB - Cousins, Mannion, Browning

RB - Cook, Mattison, Boone, Evans

FB - Pork

TE - Rudolph, Smith, Conklin

WR - Thielen, Bisi, pupu platter, Jeudy, Peoples-Jones, Gibson

OL - Williams, Thuney, Bradbury, Samia, O’Neill, Elflein, Udoh, Collins, Cabral

LB - Barr, Kendricks, Wilson, Gedeon, Smith, Cliett, Bachie

CB - Hughes, Hill, Boyd, pupu platter, Pride, Davis

S - Smith, Winfield, Muse

An offensive line of Willims, Thuney, Bradbury, Samia?, and O’Neill should make most happy.

A defensive line of Hunter, Pierce, Davis/Stephen, Clowney would be awesome!

Here is one not trading for Thuney ...
