Tis the season for Mocks and lots of them

Well ladies and gentleman the combine is behind us and FA is only a few weeks away. We went into the off season after a beat down by the eventual NFC Champs the SF 49er's. This game showed that although we have a lot of solid players on the team that we still are missing key pieces and depth on the OL & DL as well as some big holes in the secondary. Kirk Cousins I feel played well in spots throughout the year enough I do think the team will give him a extension at some point to help the team with its cap issues.

Lets start with our own roster and some of the decisions to be made

Cut Reiff and Rhodes Savings 18.1 Million

Explanation- It was a tough decision in my mind to cut Reiff with him playing decent at times. The 13 million cap hit and him giving up alot of pressures at times along with Pat Elfien the Left side of the line is due for a upgrade. As for Rhodes if it hasn't been the injuries it has been bad play that makes the cut of Rhodes a easy decision. I don't think our CB depth is as dire as people think due to Zimmer finding quality CB's late in the draft

Extend

Mackenzie Alexander -3 years at 20 million- I think Alexander is going to get a look at starting outside CB in 2020 along with 2018 1st round pick Mike Hughes with Kris Boyd and Holton Hill as backups. I think retaining Alexander is the priority of this offseason because of the likely departure of Both Rhodes and Waynes.

CJ Ham- 2 years 4 Million- Ham been a quality find for the team and a good short yardage back

FA

I don't see the Vikings being too active in FA due to lack of Cap space and they just never seem to go after the top FA's

Salary Cap for 2020- 10.1 Million

To the Draft

Vikings Trade the 25th, 89th and a 1st round pick in 2021 to the Arizona Cardinals for the 8th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft

1st Rd- Tristin Wirfs, T, Iowa - The Vikings will need to get ahead of the Browns, Jets and Bucs to get a quality OT to move forward and give Cousins a solid defender. Wirfs will excess in the zone blocking scheme, I think you could Move O Neil to LT and have Wirfs start at RT with Kline or moving to LG and Samia taking over at RG with Elf being a swing G.

2nd Rd- Antoine Winfield JR, S, Minnesota- A player who alot of Vikings fans will be familar with is Antoine Winfield Jr who his dad was a standout on the team for years. This isn't a homer pick I think its a place where Winfield could fall and would fill a need next to Harrison Smith. Winfield brings sideline to sideline coverage skills and physically at the LOS to play the run.

3rd Rd- Jabari Zuniga, DE, Florida- Zuniga has one of the best get off's of this years DL class. I think he will need to bilk up and work on his power moves as I feel he already has the speed around the edge. Zuniga could be used early as how Everson Griffen was used early in his career and then eventually move outside full time.

4th Rd- Lynn Bowden, WR, Kentucky- Bowden has been one of my favorite players in this draft , he's a solid route runner and has great change of direction. He doesn't have that great straight line speed but the fact he was used as a swiss army knife at Kentucky and his versatility he will be a great addition to the team. He reminds me of Randall Cobb, not in that he is from the same school as Cobb but because the way they play the game.

6th Rd- Shaq Quarterman, LB, Miami- Go back and watch a Hurricanes game over the past few years and you see 2 guys running around the field and making plays and getting the turnover chain. Quarterman along with Micheal Pinckney. at only 6'1 235 he's a undersized LB but a guy that just finds his way to the ball. As a late round pick he's a solid football player with a lot of playing experience

7th Rd- Neville Clark, CB, UCF- A late round find and a good size CB, Someone that Zimmer can work with.

7th Rd- Trey Adams, OT, Washington- Someone will probably say how could Adams fall this far? At times he shows early round potential but then there are times when he just falls off and gets beat badly. His injury history also plays into it here

7th Rd- James Morgan, QB, FIU- A good late round developmental QB

7th Rd- Jaron Bryant, CB, Fresno State- A good rangy CB with solid ball skills

This isn't the 1st of the season nor will it be the last have fun boys and girls
