Merry Wednesday, everyone!
I hope all are well out there. I know that this is not a good time for many, and I’m not making light of that, but in nearly everything that happens, regardless of how bad it is, you can find a little nugget of good. I’ve realized that there are a couple of good things that may come out of this current state of affairs.
- First, people are learning to wash their hands. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen someone leave a public restroom without washing their hands. Hopefully, after this is all over, we’ll see that happen less frequently (never happen would be better).
- Then, I hope to see workplaces allow employees the option to work from home in situations where it is convenient and efficient. For me, I work much better from home, and I hope that is offered as a choice. In the long run, companies would save money, and employees who work productively that way will be that much happier. It’s a win-win, in my opinion.
- Personal space will probably be increased from what we had prior to the outbreak.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
The NFL officially approved a 14-team playoffs for the 2020 season and beyond.
Wludford takes a look at the next man up: Holton Hill. I’d like to see Hill get a shot, I think he’s a good cornerback, and could become better.
Chris shared Thomasson’s report that the Vikings are pursuing a long-term deal with Anthony Harris. I like the move. The team is definitely refreshing the defense, with the moves they’ve already made this off-season, and this move would lock in one of the guys who could be the main faces on the new look of their defense of the future. Harris is one of the best safeties in the league, despite being un-drafted. Harris is 27, and getting him on a four-year deal keeps him here while he’s in his prime of his career.

Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:
From Popular Science (and this isn’t a joke), Uranus is leaking gas. Yep, true story.
From FoxSports, the Bears have finalized a trade with the Jaguars for QB Nick Foles. The Bears gave up a conditional fourth round pick for Foles. Man, I was hoping they were going to roll with Trubisky.
We come to today’s media selection:
I’m not sure why this song popped in my head, but it did, so I’m playing it. Enjoy!

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, and try the rocky mountain oysters.
