Minnesota Vikings News and Links: April 18th and 19th, 2020

Weekend Open Thread

John Randle

Good Morning!

Only a few more days until the draft, and knowing us we’ll all be disappointed in the selections the Vikings make because “my new favorite players was still on the board.” Today’s lead picture is my favorite Viking player.....that wasn’t drafted. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and you should stay home today, avoid social interaction except for here and have a great weekend.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

The Front Page Writers have your Minnesota Vikings 2020 Free Agency Tracker: All the moves as they happen.

Unicorn Hunting by Ted. With five of the first 105 picks in next week’s draft, the Vikings need to use them to find starters and fill roster gaps.

2020 NFL Draft: The Minnesota Vikings and Pick #22. Chris notes: They’ve only picked there once, but the pick was a good one.

Fanpost: Annual DN’s Best GM and Scout Contest by VikingsFanInChennai. Enter the contest and talk smack with your fellow DN’ers!

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com NFL Network Draft Analyst Daniel Jeremiah lays out an ideal scenario for the Vikings in round one of next week’s NFL Draft.

Lunchbreak: 2 with Minnesota Ties Land in Mel Kiper’s ‘Favorite’ Draft Prospects.

Experts Make Their Picks on What Vikings Will Do at No. 22 & 25.

Matthew Coller at SkorNorth.com ponders: Are any of the mid-to-late round QBs worth a shot for Vikings?

League News:

Consistent with the weekend thread, I’ll post league news in the comments section.

We come to today’s media selection: 311- Beautiful Disaster

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, don’t touch your waiter’s face and Welcome Aboard!

No more Covid 19 discussions.
